There are so many things we can learn from Football that we can use each and every day of our lives.
1. Optimism - A positive attitude helps us take on challenges and helps us believe we can succeed. The football team has to be positive and believe that they can win games. We too should believe in ourselves and believe in others so that we can spread smiles and help encourage people everywhere we go.
2. Motivation - Just like the coach of a football team, it is important to help motivate people through life. Sometimes it feels like a mountain we have to climb just to get through the day. Many people are dealing with hard times and may need a pep talk to help stimulate them and inspire them towards greatness.
3. Leadership - Just like the quarterback on the team, we must be good leaders and set good examples. If the quarterback does not model the way in the huddle, the team will not have confidence that he knows what he is talking about. Become the person other people want to follow and Just be Awesome!
4. Teamwork- Together Everyone Achieves More! A football team must form a cohesive bond as a group all performing together to achieve the goal of scoring touchdowns. In life, we are all on the same team and should work together to help and support our family, friends, and anyone we meet because alone we can do so little but together we can do so much. Teamwork makes the dream work!
5. Perseverance - What would happen if the football players gave up after their first loss? We should never give up and be hopeful that we can continue to get better in our relationships, friendships, jobs, etc. Facing obstacles can be discouraging but we must move on and continue striving for achievement of our goals.
6. Recognition - It is so very important to encourage each other and celebrate wins! Just like the football team celebrates winning the big game, we should also celebrate wins that occur in our or other people's lives no matter how big or how small they are. Recognition of a job well done is what helps encourage us to keep going!
Holiday Headquarters hopes that you enjoy watching the Boys of Fall and kickoff the Football season with the determination to score many touchdowns both on the field and off the field!
The Boys of Fall
by Kenny Chesney
When I feel that chill, smell that fresh cut grass
I'm back in my helmet, cleats, and shoulder pads
Standing in the huddle, listening to the call
Fans going crazy for the boys of fall
They didn't let just anybody in that club
Took every ounce of heart and sweat and blood
To get to wear those game-day jerseys down the hall
The kings of the school, man, we're the boys of fall
Well it's turn to face the stars and stripes
It's fighting back them butterflies
It's call it in the air, alright
Yes sir, we want the ball
And it's knocking heads and talking trash
It's slinging mud and dirt and grass
It's I got your number, I got your back
When your back's against the wall
you mess with one man, you got us all
The Boys of Fall
In little towns like mine, that's all they've got
Newspaper clippings fill the coffee shops
The old men will always think they know it all
Young girls will dream about the boys of fall
Well it's turn and face the stars and stripes
It's fighting back them butterflies
it's call it in the air, alright
Yes sir, we want the ball
And it's knocking heads and talking trash
It's slinging mud and dirt and grass
It's I got your number, I got your back
When your back's against the wall
You mess with one man, you got us all
The boys of fall
Well it's turn and face the stars and stripes
It's fighting back them butterflies
it's call it in the air, alright
Yes sir, we want the ball
And it's knocking heads and talking trash
It's slinging mud and dirt and grass
It's I got your number, I got your back
When your back's against the wall
You mess with one man, you got us all
