2015 NASCAR Daytona 500 Gear

Today, the Nascar 2015 season begins!
The Daytona 500 is the first race of the Sprint Cup Series season and is commonly referred to as the Nascar Superbowl.  The Daytona super speedway is a 2-1/2 mile track that seats 147,000 fans.  The track opened in 1959 and is located in Daytona Beach, Florida.

This year marks the 57th running of the great American Race.  It is also the 14th anniversary of the death of Dale Earnhardt Sr., aka The Intimidator, who hit the wall at Daytona on the last lap in 2001.  His statute now welcomes you to the Daytona Super Speedway.

Jeff Gordon, who announced he will retire from Nascar after the 2015 season,  won the pole for today's race.  Next to Gordon is Jimmy Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr starts third and Kyle Busch was supposed to start fourth.  However, since he was injured in the XFINITY series race yesterday, he will not be able to participate.  Instead the Monster car will have a substitute driver to drive for him.

From the time the green flag waves to the time the checkered flag is flown, there should be plenty of excitement for Nascar fans to watch.  40+ cars flying around the track at speeds of over 200 miles an hour, all trying to lead a lap and win the race.
Who will win?  Only time will tell.

Enjoy the race and we will see you in victory lane!

Fat Tuesday

Holiday Headquarters wishes you a Happy Fat Tuesday!

For those of you who don't know, today is Mardi Gras, which is also known as "Fat Tuesday."  Mardi Gras is celebrated in many parts of the world.  The Mardi Gras celebration consists of a big parade, people wearing elaborate costumes, masks, and beads.

Mardi Gras in the United States is typically celebrated in the French Quarter in New Orleans.  The first Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans was said to be held in 1837 and has continued ever since.

So put on your masquerade mask and some shiny beads and have a great day

President's Day

Holiday Headquarters is celebrating President's Day

The third Monday of February is known as President's Day. This date was initially named a holiday to honor the first president of the United States, George Washington, but has now become a holiday to honor all presidents who have served.
Many state agencies, banks and some schools have the day off.

Since George Washington is famous for the legend of chopping down the cherry tree,

Holiday Headquarters has found many special cherry items just for you.
We hope that you enjoy the day!

SuperBowl Sunday

Today is the day, when the final two NFL teams battle in the championship game to see who will be named the Superbowl champions.  The Superbowl takes place at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona and is sure to be an exciting display of football.  Tom Brady will try to lead the New England Patriots down the field while Richard Sherman and the Seattle Seahawks defense try to stop them.  Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch will do their best to march the Seahawks down the field while the New England Patriots defense tries to deny them of a touchdown.
It should be a great game between some good players.

And don't worry for those of you would really don't care about either team, the Superbowl commercials and the Pepsi Halftime show with Katy Perry should be exciting enough to keep you wanting to see more.  For those of you who don't care too much about the game, you can take intermissions during the game so you don't miss the commercials or the halftime show, LOL.  Here is a early preview of some of the commercials you can expect to see.

Either way, their should be plenty of people tailgating and grilling today before the big showdown.

Kick back, relax and enjoy the game and be sure to check back here for your Superbowl Champion gear.
